Rhythm Tambourines
Ron Vaughn Rhythm Tambourines have a long and deeply trusted history among players all throughout the world, now for over 50 years. And many of these players are quite famous for their bands, playing, songs, tours, solo work, and classic recordings. And so many of them use Ron's hand-made tambourines for their recording work, i.e., their personal recorded legacy sounds and styles.
For live playing, they often will use other, plastic molded tambourines that lack the 'recording sound qualities' needed for studio and album work, but the molded plastic can take the sometimes frequent abuse of some live performer's styles.
Ron's Rhythm Tambourines, like all of his other tambourines, are meant to be played with human hands. They are not designed for overpowering, abusive styles of playing, such as playing them against other objects, or hitting them together, or with sticks, etc.
Ron designs all of his tambourines for their sound, balance, and feel.
There are plenty of other less expensive, mass produced, plastic molded tambourines for those excessively hard-playing styles and needs.
Ron Vaughn Rhythm Tambourines are all made with 100% steam bent solid shells, made by Ron Vaughn Percussion, USA. The jingles in these instruments are all also 100% made by Ron Vaughn Percussion, USA. Typically, Ron's rhythm tambourines are built in 8" and 10" shell diameters, with a variety of jingle patterns and combinations.
Ron's Rhythm Tambourine sounds can be found on sound tracks of most every kind that have been recorded and produced over the past 50 years. Songs, dedicated rhythm tracks, motion picture sound tracks, television sound tracks, and other special project sound tracks, as well as live performances and concerts of most every kind and style.

Or, read on, below for some really useful Rhythm Tambourine performance information:
Did you know?: that a tambourine with inline jingle slots, (one jingle slot directly over another jingle slot), will produce a MUCH more rhythmic sound when you play a shake roll.
And, a tambourine with staggered slots will produce a much, MUCH smoother shake roll when you play a shake roll, (no matter if it's a headless OR natural skin headed tambourine).
So, in rhythm tambourines, if you are aiming to 'drive time' with a well defined rhythm tambourine sound, (rock, pop, fusion), choose an inline model.
And if you want a more driving, 'thicker' tambourine sound to make your performance rhythm even stronger, choose an inline tambourine with Ron's R-1 brass jingles,
